Recently I came across one amazing book that has been collecting dust on my shelf for years. It is titled "Ignore Everybody" by Hugh MacLeod. I got it a couple of years ago while studying for my Master's Degree but I never had a chance to read it. There was always something preventing me from doing it - my infant, household that seemed to take all my time, my job, other responsibilities and duties... I always waited for the perfect time to sit down and read it. Just like I had been waiting for the perfect time to do anything I considered worthwhile: having a child, doing music, studying subjects that I find interesting, express myself the way I want.
But here's the thing - perfect time never comes. You keep thinking: "When the right time comes...", "When I feel more ready/free/relaxed/etc...". But your life just keeps passing by, throwing at you more things to deal with on the way, and one day you realize you haven't done anything you've really wanted because you never felt it was the right moment, you never felt prepared enough, you never felt brave enough or good enough...
You know, they say "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, It is about learning to dance in the rain". So you might as well do what you love, with all the baggage you may have - may it be your fears, your uncertainties, your past... Just ignore everybody, including your own voices that say you are not good enough, you are not ready yet, or anything else. Just do it. Because that calling inside of you will never leave you alone, no matter how long you ignore it and no matter how many excuses you may find to not listen to it.
That's what I am doing now. That's why I am writing this blog. That's why I am back to doing music. Life is too short to live it with no passion.
